WPCN 92.1 FM (1010 AM) is dedicated to honoring the greatest Rock & Roll music ever recorded, with a spotlight on the greatest hits from the 60s and 70s, plus a few tossed in from the 80s. Licensed to Stevens Point, Wisconsin, United States, the station serves the Wausau-Stevens Point area. The station was acquired by Mid-West Radio Corporation in 1967. In 1980, the station was acquired by the Muzzy Broadcast Group. On this station, listeners will find a variety of programs in addition to their favorite oldies music. The station has earned a reputation for providing its everyday listeners from all over the world with consistently high-quality music and the greatest live performances. It also provides news, weather updates, sports, and information, both local and international. The station switched to a news/talk format in 2000. It switched back to playing country music in 2013. The station switched to its current oldies format in 2016. WPCN at one time was one of the few stations (perhaps the only station) to directly simulcast Fox News Channel. This radio station, The TRUE OLDIES CHANNEL, is programmed and hosted by legendary dee-jay and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, Scott Shannon. The station now carries CBS Sports Radio programming on the weekends and talk shows at night, when its power is reduced to cover only Stevens Point proper to protect clear channel station CFRB in Toronto. The True Oldies Channel, is a network of radio stations that plays classic hits from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.
