WGUR 95.3, initially known as WXGC “88 Rock,” is a United States-based college-run radio station that provides a variety of formats, playing a diverse mix of music, news, sports, and podcasts. The station is owned by Georgia College & State University and licensed to Milledgeville, Georgia, USA. This radio station basically provides a platform for students to express their creativity and gain valuable experience in radio broadcasting.
WGUR 95.3 believes in the power and voice of Georgia College students, and the station itself is a testament to that. This radio station officially began airing on January 10, 1975. At the time of launch, about 17 students worked on-staff for the station, which aired GC sports special events, campus news, and music that appealed to a majority of students. This radio station provides a platform for student voices to be heard and fosters a sense of community among students, faculty, and staff.
