The Avenue 91.1, also known as WOVM (91.1 FM), is an adult contemporary music format non-commercial radio station licensed to Appleton, Wisconsin, United States. The station is owned by Music That Matters, Inc. The Avenue was born with a vision to create a dynamic non-profit radio station, dedicated to giving nonprofits unprecedented access to the airwaves for the greater good of its community.
The Avenue 91.1 (WOVM) is committed to providing its listeners with the best Adult Contemporary format including pop, rock, classic, hip-hop, and R&B music, and it has become recognized as one of the nation’s top radio stations for these genres. As an independent station, not tied to a conglomerate or corporate headquarters of radio stations, The Avenue operates as a single entity. In 2014, WOVM held a $1 million dollar fundraiser to continue its operation; by the beginning of 2015, it had raised over $700,000 from listeners and business supporters. The station's music is also independent, it is not tied to a dictated group of songs; it plays local, regional and national artists based on a finely tuned style and sound unlike any other playlist.
