About GPB Radio
GPB Radio (88.5 FM), also known as “WRAS-FM,” is a non-commercial radio station based in the United States that broadcasts a mix of news, talk, and music programs, with a focus on local and regional issues. The station is owned and operated by Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB), and it is a state network of PBS member television stations and NPR member radio stations serving the U.S. state of Georgia. Students at Georgia State host and produce all the programs on this radio station, except for Georgia State Panthers sporting events.
GPB Radio (88.5 FM) is a member of the National Public Radio (NPR) network and carries many of its popular programs, such as Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and Fresh Air. It is Georgia's public media outlet, with 9 television stations and 17 radio stations. While GPB public radio is heard around the clock on several simulcast radio stations in Georgia, listeners in the Atlanta area only hear the daytime schedule on "WRAS." The station's programming includes news coverage on topics such as politics, business, health, technology, sports, entertainment, and more. In addition to NPR programming, this radio station also produces a number of its own local programs.
