KROQ Roq of the 80s, also known as KROQ-FM (106.7 MHz), is a United States-based classic rock format commercial radio station licensed to Pasadena, California, serving Greater Los Angeles that plays classic rock music from the 1980s. Owned by Audacy, Inc., it broadcasts an alternative rock format known as “The World Famous KROQ” (pronounced “kay-rock”). KROQ is a renowned radio station that gained prominence in the late 1970s and 1980s for its influential role in promoting punk, new wave, and alternative rock music. It was inducted into the Rock Radio Hall of Fame in 2014. In August 2018, this radio station reintroduced the “Roq of the 80s” format on its HD2 subchannel, featuring classic hits from artists like U2, Blondie, Duran Duran, and Nine Inch Nails.
