Established on December 13, 1962, as a carrier current station named WNEU, it transitioned to FM broadcasting in September 1970 under the call sign WRBB, which stands for “Radio Back Bay.” The station is funded through the Northeastern Student Activities fee. WRBB offers a diverse range of programming, including over 100 music and talk shows each semester that span various genres and topics. It is a Class D non-commercial radio station licensed by the Federal Communications Commission. The station also provides live broadcasts of major Northeastern University sports events, such as hockey, basketball, and baseball games.
