WKNO – FM (91.1 FM) is a news/talk format broadcast radio station based in Memphis, Tennessee that broadcasts news content to listeners across the United States. It is a pair of public radio station, that serve the “Mid-South” region with local fine arts and classical music programs, as well as news and information programs from the National Public Radio (NPR), Public Radio International, and American Public Media networks. The station’s programming focuses on providing up-to-date information and analysis on local, national, and international issues. WKNO 91.1 (Memphis), signed on-air April 1, 1972, as the first public radio station in the Memphis area. The station has established itself as a trusted source of news for the Memphis community and beyond.
