The Elegant Sound

The Elegant Sound is a United States-based internet radio station located in Boston, Massachusetts, that plays beautiful music and easy listening music as was heard on the radio from the 1960s through the 1990s with very little talk. Its format features lush instrumental arrangements of familiar songs, complemented by occasional easy-listening vocals. This radio station believes that music should be an indulgence for the senses. It takes the listener’s back to the Golden Age of Beautiful Music as it was heard on the radio in the 1960s through the 1990s. Originally known as “JIB on the Web,” the station was a tribute to Boston’s WJIB 97 FM, emulating its classic style, complete with time checks, weather updates, and archival inserts from the original broadcast.
