Rádio Brockton FM

Radio Brockton FM (BFM) was founded in 2014 by a group of Cape Verdean immigrants who wanted to create a platform for their community to connect and share their culture. Cape Verdean Americans are an ethnic group of Americans whose ancestors were Cape Verdean. Cape Verdean Americans reside mostly in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Some Cape Verdeans also settled in the Midwestern United States, Florida and California. BFM is a generalist radio, which produces credible information, guided by criteria of rigor, objectivity, neutrality, and professional ethics.
BFM works to uphold democratic values and a pluralistic, global society by defending and promoting educated public opinion with an active voice. The station broadcasts a variety of programs, including live music, news, talk shows, and religious programming. It also has a strong focus on Cape Verdean culture, broadcasting traditional Cape Verdean music and news from Cape Verde. It is a Radio autonomous from political power and independent from private commercial powers, which is governed by the principles enshrined in its editorial line. It is answerable only to its audience, with whom it maintains an honest and loyal relationship that is upheld by the democratic principles of the republic's constitution.
