Radio America (900 AM), also known as WACA (AM), is an American-based Spanish news/talk formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Laurel, Maryland, that provides community news, information and contemporary music. The station’s owner is Alejandro Carrasco, considered the most influential Hispanic radio personality in Washington, Maryland, and Virginia. From 1965 to the early 1980s, this radio station (then WLMD) broadcast a succession of formats in English; several radio personalities began their careers with the station.
