Public Radio 89.5 FM

Public Radio 89.5,also known as KWGS, was Oklahoma's first FM radio station, and it offers a wide range of programs that cater to different interests and preferences. The station was established in 1947 through the initiative of TU (University of Tulsa) speech professor Ben Graf Henneke, later president of the university. One of the things that set this radio station apart from other news outlets is its commitment to providing unbiased and factual reporting. KWGS began broadcasting on October 19, 1947, and was the first FM station in Oklahoma and one of the first educational stations in the country. This radio station actively supports Tulsa's arts and culture in addition to providing excellent news content.
