La Mega 101.7 FM, also known as WLAT (910 AM), is a Spanish Tropical music format radio station based in the United States that is licensed to New Britain, Connecticut, and serves the Hartford market. The station is owned by Gois Broadcasting, and it broadcasts from studios located on Burnside Avenue in East Hartford.
La Mega 101.7 FM (WLAT) keeps its audience entertained and up-to-date with the latest news, gossip, and events happening in the Spanish tropical format music genre including salsa, merengue, and cumbia. The station originally came on the air May 20, 1949, as WHAY, and its original studios were in New Britain. In 2001, Spanish broadcaster Mega Broadcasting's Alfredo Alonso purchased the station for $750,000, and changed the format to Spanish as "Amor 910" on May 5 of that year. From its inception, “La Mega 101.7 FM” has become famous for the high sound quality of its programs and its engaging radio personalities.
