KXT 91.7, also known as KKXT (91.7 FM), is a United States-based listener-supported public radio station, licensed to Dallas, Texas, and broadcasting to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. One of the few non-commercial radio stations in North Texas, KXT supports local artists and plays a unique mix of new, local, and legendary music that listeners love. The station is bringing its listener’s the best music from various genres, including indie rock, alternative country, and singer-songwriters.
KXT 91.7 (KKXT-FM) is to provide its listeners with an enjoyable and unique listening experience by playing handpicked songs that are not overplayed or mainstream. It has a Triple A (adult album alternative) music format with a mix of acoustic, alt-country, indie rock, alternative, and world music. The station is owned by North Texas Public Broadcasting, which also owns KERA (FM), an NPR news and information network affiliate, and KERA-TV, a PBS affiliate. The bulk of KXT’s programming lineup is produced and programmed locally, including weekday mornings with Benji McPhail, The KXT Local Show, What’s New with Jackson Wisdorf, Funky Friday with Lesley James, and The Paul Slavens Show.
