About KTEP 88.5 FM
KTEP 88.5 FM is a United States-based non-commercial, listener-supported radio station that is affiliated with National Public Radio (NPR) and provides a variety of programming, including news, classical music, jazz, and cultural programs. It is a Class C1 FM station that broadcasts from the Communication Department at the University of Texas at El Paso. KTEP broadcasts NPR news programs such as “Morning Edition” and “All Things Considered.”
KTEP 88.5 FM is El Paso's strongest public radio station and is supported in part by the University of Texas at El Paso, which provides space for the station on campus, and pays the salaries of most of the full-time employees. The station airs mostly news and informational programming in morning and afternoon drive time and much of the day on weekends. In the evenings and at night, it switches to jazz and other music genres like blues, new age, and classical. KTEP offers programs that highlight local and regional culture, as well as national and international cultural content.
