About KRNU 2
KRNU 2 is the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s award-winning student radio station, which is part of the KRNU (90.3 FM) based in the United States and plays a variety of genres, including jazz, folk, rap, and a cappella, as well as sports talk programs and play-by-play coverage of Nebraska Cornhuskers home sporting events. The station operates 24 hours a day year ‘round from the Roy Lenwell Studios in Andersen Hall on the university’s city campus. It features a diverse range of hosts who bring their expertise and knowledge to the waves.
KRNU 2 focuses on providing alternative music programming, including indie, underground, and lesser-known artists, expanding the music variety beyond the traditional broadcast of KRNU. It's a sister station to KRNU and features a wider range of music and specialty shows than the main station. Today, the station airs a mix of independent rock artists and local musicians. It offers a platform for students to gain experience in radio broadcasting, production, and management. There are also sports talk programs and play-by-play programs of Nebraska Cornhuskers home sporting events.
