KFAR AM, also known as KFAR 660 AM, is a news/talk format commercial radio station in Fairbanks, Alaska, United States, that airs a mix of local and national news and talk programming. It is the oldest radio station in Fairbanks and one of the oldest in Alaska. KFAR airs Fox News Radio throughout the day and carries national radio programs through Compass Media Networks, Genesis Communications Network, Premiere Networks, and Westwood One, among others.
KFAR AM (600 AM/97.5 FM) previously held longtime affiliations with the ABC Radio Network, Mutual Broadcasting System, and the previous incarnation of Westwood One. The station's local hosts, like Michael Dukes, David Pruhs, and Laura Berkowitz, keep listeners informed about what's happening in Fairbanks and the surrounding area. For news and information both locally and nationally, the station is a great resource. Since adopting the news/talk format in the 1980s, KFAR has had a long-standing commitment to airing locally produced talk radio programming.
