KBPS

KBPS (1450 AM) is a United States-based high school radio station located in Portland, Oregon, that is dedicated to playing listeners’ favorite hits from the past, with a focus on the best music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. It is run by Benson Polytechnic High School students enrolled in the radio broadcasting program. It is owned by Portland Public Schools. As part of its standard transmission, KBPS broadcasts in AM stereo. The station features a diverse, eclectic range of programming that changes based on the school schedule. Its programming features a wide range of classic rock, pop, R&B, and country hits that will take its listeners back in time to when music was at its finest. From Elvis Presley to The Beatles, from Aretha Franklin to Led Zeppelin, this radio station plays them all. KBPS serves both as a learning laboratory and as a community voice for Portland Public Schools.
