HOT 103 JAMZ!, known as KPRS (103.3 FM), is an American-based urban contemporary format radio station licensed to serve Kansas City, Missouri, that is dedicated to bringing its listener’s the best jazz music from around the world. It is the oldest continually African American-owned radio station in the United States. The station’s playlist consists of hip-hop, R&B, and gospel music. Its inception was driven by Carter’s vision to create a platform that showcased Black artists and served the African American community. The station’s programming features a wide range of artists, from Miles Davis to John Coltrane and everything in between. KPRS also features local musicians and up-and-coming talent, helping to support the thriving jazz scene in Kansas City.
