The station signed on the air on December 15, 1961, and the original call sign was WBOB-FM. It features classic country hits from artists such as George Strait, Reba McEntire, and Alan Jackson, among others. This radio station is the home for NASCAR and is the flagship station for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The station also broadcasts the classic country music show, Blue Ridge Back Roads, live from the Rex Theater in Galax weekly.
