97 LAV (WLAV-FM) is a broadcast radio station that believes that music should be enjoyed to its full potential, which is why we stream using the HE-AACv2 codec at a bitrate of 49 kbps. The station went on the air in 1940, and in 1949, WLAV-TV 7 signed on, later becoming WOOD-TV 8. The call sign WLAV is a tribute to Leonard Adrian Versluis, the station's founder. On Memorial Day 1992, the station changed to a modern rock-based format. The station's playlist features some of the greatest hits from iconic bands like Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and many more.
