97.7 The Bay, also known as WMDM, is a United States-based classic hits format radio station licensed to Lexington Park, Maryland, that offers a selection of classic rock music, featuring artists like Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and Aerosmith. The station is owned and operated by Somar Communications, Inc. WMDM has gone through several format and call sign changes over the years. This radio station originally aired an adult contemporary/top 40 mixed format in the 1980s as All Hit 98 WMDM. It experienced multiple rebrandings and format shifts, including modern rock as “The Rocket,” adult contemporary as “Magic 97.7,” and easy listening as “Easy 97.7.” Currently the station is playing classic hits and is branded as “97.7 The Bay.”
